Calder Repair Coupling
High-performance Shielded Solutions
Calder Repair Couplings deliver high-performance shielded solutions specifically engineered for connecting both like and unlike pipe materials in demanding underground environments. Built with strength and designed for versatility, these couplings feature a durable stainless steel shield and precision worm gear clamps that withstand substantial earth pressure, resist shear forces, and maintain proper pipe alignment even in shifting or unstable soil conditions.
Available in various sizes, these robust assemblies are ideal for non-pressure, gravity flow applications in sewer and storm drain systems.
Each coupling incorporates four to seven 304 or 316 series stainless steel worm drive clamps assembled over a one-piece molded EPDM elastomeric sealing gasket, creating an advanced band tensioning system that ensures watertight seals while preventing leaks, root intrusion, and both infiltration and exfiltration. The axially slotted clamps allow independent adjustment to accommodate pipe diameter variations, while integrated sealing O-rings positioned beneath each clamp stabilize connections and enhance overall sealing performance. Unlike conventional thermoplastic materials, the synthetic rubber gasket allows considerable deformation without altering fundamental physical properties, remaining resilient to underground exposure, ultraviolet rays, ozone, fungal growth, and typical sewer gases while providing easier installation in cold weather conditions.
